This is just a shout out for anyone reading about the changes around asbestos in ADR 2025. There seems to be quite a bit of misinformation doing the rounds that the rules will change the way in which asbestos is transported and make the transport of waste asbestos more onerous.
Please note that these changes concern only the bulk carriage of asbestos, which is presently not allowed.
If you are currently carrying asbestos in packages in a skip, or to special provision 168, then the rules will remain the same.
The new rules will actually make life easier, because bulk carriage will be allowed from January 2025.
We’ve provided further information around these changes in the video below, or you can download the ADR 2025 changes pdf from the UNECE website here.
We’ve also provided an e-learning course which covers all of the ADR requirements for the carriage of asbestos, including how the new rules work. You can view this here.
We hope the above posts and others on our social media help allay any fears about the changes to the regulations, but please do get in touch if we can be of any help.
