Regulatory Position Statement (RPS) 09, issued in 2011, has been replaced by RPS 09 revised 17th January 2018.

The RPS allows collectors of wastes, such as the resultant mixture of diesel and petrol from the emptying of mis-fuelled vehicles, to store this waste without the requirement for an environmental permit.

The revised RPS includes additional provisions not detailed in the previous position, such as the requirement for supervised offloading at premises not operated by the collector and a new statement allowing collection of the bulked-up waste in packages, not just by tanker.
