The ADR III and IIIS forms, those used to apply for a vehicle ADR 1C certificate, were updated by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in July 2026 to include additional questions following updates to the ADR legislation. The ADR 1C is required for vehicles carrying dangerous goods in bulk format.
The purpose of the update was to make the question about inaccessible auxiliary/starter batteries clearer.
Following on from this the DVSA have now confirmed that as of the 1st of November 2026 they will ONLY accept the latest version of these forms, so to avoid delays in your applications we would advise making sure you have the latest version available which can be downloaded directly here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-adr-road-vehicle-certification-adr-iii
This does not affect customers who do not require ADR 1C certification for their vehicles.
